RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A Disney Classic is making the jump from animation to live-action while the cast of “Barbershop” is back for another trim at the box office this weekend.
Rudyard Kipling’s “Jungle Book” is getting the live-action treatment this weekend. It’s the story of Mowgli, the orphaned boy who is raised in the jungle by a pack of wolves. Baloo, Kaa, and all of the other talking critters from the beloved Disney animated classic are here too. It features the voices of Idris Elba, Lupita N’yongo, Scarlett Johanson,and Bill Murray. The film, from the director of “Iron Man”, is rated “PG.”
“Barbershop: The Next Cut” is the third film in the “Barbershop” series featuring Ice Cube as a Southside Chicago salon owner. The neighborhood is struggling to deal with the gun violence that has claimed so many lives The shop decides to take a stand and call for a ceasefire. Costarring Common, Eve, Cedric The Entertainer and Nikki Minaj, the movie is rated “PG-13.”
“Criminal” is the futuristic story of a crook, played by Kevin Costner, who has the memories of a CIA agent, played by Ryan Reynolds implanted into his head. It’s all so he can catch an international terrorist who is on the run. The action thriller co-stars Tommy Lee Jones and Wonder Woman herself Gal Godot. It’s rated “R.”
