ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A Charlottesville man has been arrested after police say he hid cameras in his neighbors’ bathroom while he was pet sitting for them.
Detectives with the Albemarle County Police Department arrested 45-year-old Thomas Andrew Eagleston of Charlottesville and charged him with two felony counts of unlawful filming of a juvenile and three misdemeanor counts of unlawful filming of adults.
Eagleston was arrested after police were called to his neighbors’ home regarding a camera that was found inside their master bathroom. The hidden camera contained footage showing each of the family members inside using the bathroom and showering. Police say Eagleston had been entrusted take care of his neighbors’ pets for two days at the end of March, which is when authorities believe Eagleston planted the cameras.
Several items were also taken from the home. A search warrant was executed at Eagleston’s home at the time of his arrest. Police say additional charges are pending.
Eagleston was denied bond in court on Tuesday. He also faces two counts of breaking and entering.
