RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Just days after Peanut made his second appearance as the 8News Pet of the Week, he found his forever home.
His new mom, Alex, came to meet him the weekend after his visit to our studio. On Tuesday, Peanut’s adoption was finalized and he went home with Alex.
8-year-old Peanut is a special needs cat. He recently had eye surgery to correct a birth defect, so he’ll be on several medications and have a check up at the Susan M. Markel Veterinary Hospital.
SPCA Director of Communications, Tabitha Frizzell Treloar says, “access to low-cost veterinary care is an especially important benefit of adopting from the Richmond SPCA for special needs pets like Peanut.”
Peanut had been waiting for a forever home ever since his story was told at last year’s Fur Ball. He was rescued one year ago from a hoarder and brought to the Richmond SPCA by Michelle Welch, Senior Assistant Attorney General and Director of the Animal Law Unit.
You can meet the 8News Pet of the Week every Friday during 8News at 9.
