RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Police are making a correction after detectives recently learned the true identity of a homicide victim.
The murder happened on March 7 in the Town and Country apartment complex on the city’s south side.
At the time of the incident, police say the victim had identification that led detectives to believe that he was 31-year-old De Jesus-Baldes Noe of the 1400 block of Armfield Road. That was an alias.
With help from the FBI and information from relatives in Guatemala, detectives determined the victim’s true identity as 34-year-old Clemente Jimenez Lopez, 34, of the 1400 block of Armfield Road.
Around 2:12 a.m. on Monday, March 7, officers were called to the 1400 block of Armfield Road for a report of a person down. When police arrived, they found Lopez down and unresponsive in the parking lot of the apartment complex suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
