UR Lacrosse prepares for in-state rival UVA Saturday

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond’s men’s lacrosse program has a short history, this season’s still is one for the history books.

This week they prepare for the vaunted Virginia Cavaliers lacrosse team, not ranked coming into the match up but still a traditional powerhouse lacrosse program.

Saturday, the two will meet for the third time in the series with the Cavaliers winning the first two meetings. This year’s game will be at Robins Stadium and admission is free.

The Spiders already have defeated an ACC team this season, knocking off then #9 Duke 12-10 in Durham, NC on March 7th.

Richmond has a 7-2 record so far this season, and have received votes to be in the Top 20 national rankings.

Virginia is 5-5 this season, 1-2 on the road.
