Petersburg employee accused of misusing travel voucher ‘no longer employed by city’

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — Officials with the City of Petersburg confirmed Friday that Public Information Officer Jay Ell Alexander is no longer employed by the city. This news comes on the heels of an investigation of a misused work-related travel voucher for person use.

Public Information Officer Jay Ell Alexander was accused of using the voucher to fund a personal trip to Jamaica. The voucher was intended for work-related travel to Florida to study the city’s marathon preparation.
