RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A man is recovering in the hospital after suffering multiple gunshot wounds in Richmond’s southside Thursday night.
Police say they initially responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Franklin and Belvidere near VCU’s Monroe Park campus. When they arrived, they found a male victim who had been shot multiple times. He was transported to VCU Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Following a preliminary investigation, police determined the victim was shot on Jefferson Davis Highway and then transported to Monroe Park Towers apartment complex by a Good Samaritan who called 9-1-1.
Police are still investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
