RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC/AP) — The Commonwealth is offering college credit for five career and technical education courses to state prison inmates.
The courses are recommended by the American Council on Education’s college credit recommendation service. Department of Corrections inmates can receive credit for classes including introductory business, commercial arts and design and software applications and more.
Governor Terry McAuliffe’s office said inmates who complete the courses can submit a transcript for completed courses to higher education institutes for degree credit consideration.
