RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Just as expected, showers arrived after 3 p.m, and the steadier line of rain is pushing in. We’ll see this rain move from south west to north east through central Virginia tonight, and gradually taper off after midnight. We’re still looking at the potential for upwards of half and inch. Lows tonight drop into the low and middle 50s. Sunset is now 7:15 p.m. with the time change.
- Steady rain move into area this evening
- Rain winds down gradually after midnight
- A few more rain chances this week
Tomorrow may start with a light sprinkle, but our morning commute will be unaffected by the rain, as it’ll be long gone. Skies remain cloudy but dry through much of the day tomorrow with a high of 67, but another round of rain moves in late tomorrow evening, mainly after 8 – 9 p.m..
Tuesday will feel like déjà vu. We start with a few brief morning showers, but the rest of our day will be dry. Highs are in the upper 60s. Tuesday afternoon will bring some clearing—bring on a bit of sun!
Wednesday looks like the best day of the week, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 80. Saint Patrick’s Day will bring cooler temperatures and mostly cloudy skies, but even with the “cooler” air, we still stay near 70, remaining well above normal. There is the small chance for an afternoon shower, but I’m leaning more against that chance as of now. We will keep an eye on it for you playing hooky to partake in the festivities.
Friday continues the cooling trend, with sunshine and highs in the mid 60s.
Saturday we’re back to normal—mostly sunny and upper 50s.
Sunday we will see rain, and from the looks of it, it could be a lot! Highs are in the mid 50s.
