Pedestrian fatally struck by car on Midlothian Turnpike identified

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Police say the driver involved in a fatal crash on Midlothian Turnpike on Saturday was driving without a license.

Around 7 p.m. on Saturday, authorities say Duncan S. Smyly, 57, was walking on Midlothian Turnpike when he was struck by a 2014 Dodge Dart, which was traveling east. Smyly, of the 6600 block of Midlothian Turnpike in Richmond, was transported to Chippenham Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Dodge Dart, 31-year-old Cindy Ayala Jimenez, of North Carolina, was issued a summons for driving without a license.
