(WRIC/WCBD) — Trader Joe’s is recalling a couple of varieties of pistachio products from its stores over concerns that some may be contaminated with salmonella.
The grocery chain has been alerted by their supplier of in-shell, roasted pistachios that the following products with the “BEST IF USED BY” date codes from October 27, 2016 through November 4, 2016 may be contaminated with salmonella:
- Trader Joe’s Dry Roasted & Unsalted Pistachios (UPC 0007 9990)
- Trader Joe’s Dry Roasted & Salted Pistachios (UPC 0007 9983)
- Trader Joe’s 50 percent Less Salt Roasted & Salted Pistachios (UPC 0011 1348)
The products were distributed to Trader Joe’s stores nationwide and are packaged in 16 ounce plastic bags with code information on the back of the package along the bottom.
All of the products in question have been removed from store shelves and their sale has been suspended while the issue is investigated. No illnesses have been reported to date.
If you purchased any of these products, please do not eat them. The company urges you to discard the product or return it to any Trader Joe’s for a full refund.
