1 killed in Louisa County house fire overnight

LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — One person was killed after a house fire in Louisa County overnight Thursday.

Fire officials said crews were called to the home in the 1600 block of James Madison Highway, just south of Gordonsville, shortly before 3 a.m. By the time units arrived on scene, the home was fully involved in fire.

Three people were in the home when the blaze broke out. Two people escaped and another person was found dead inside.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
