CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — There will be an increase in police presence at Matoaca High School today after the school received threatening emails Monday afternoon.
Chesterfield police did not release specifics regarding the nature of the threat. However, authorities are taking the threat seriously and extra officers will be on campus Tuesday.
8News reporter Roxie Bustamante spoke to some parents at the school this morning who said the threats were cause for concern.
“I don’t think the kids should be here,” Neweil Johnson said. “And mine is about to go back home.”
Police are continuing to investigate.
