Dinwiddle man robbed and shot twice, sent to hospital

HOPEWELL, Va (WRIC) —  Hopewell Police are investigating a shooting that happened early Sunday morning.

Sunday, around 3:15 a.m., Hopewell Police arrived at the 1500 block of Luther Boulevard and discovered victim had been shot twice.

The 52-year-old male, from Dinwiddie, suffered non-life treating injuries and was transported to a local Hopewell hospital.

The victim told police he was following two females in a black, late model Pontiac Grand AM, to the 7 Eleven parking lot located in the 2300 block of Oaklawn Blvd.

Once arriving in the area the victim stated that the black Pontiac kept going while he was stopped in his vehicle. The victim stated that he was approached by two black males and he was pulled out of
his vehicle and was assaulted and shot.

The victim’s wallet and personal items were taken and the two men fled on foot.

There is no description of the two males involved.
