TAPPAHANNOCK, Va. (WRIC) — Essex Bank offered free lunch Friday to anyone affected by Wednesday’s devastating tornado.

Victims, rescue workers and relief volunteers were all welcome. Lunch was served at Essex Bank’s main office at 1325 Tappahannock Boulevard in Tappahannock between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The lunch was made possible in part by donations from Tom Leonard’s Farmers Market in Short Pump, and by Sodexo Catering at Deep Run 3 office complex in Henrico.

Essex Bank is also accepting donations to the American Red Cross. Donations can be made at any Essex Bank office statewide. Checks should be made out to The American Red Cross, with “Essex County Relief” in the memo line. Essex Bank has added $2,000 to this fund as a corporate donation.

Donations of non-perishable food, supplies and clothing may also be made at any Essex Bank.
