RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Virginia Commonwealth University is hosting the inaugural RamTHON this Saturday, to raise funds for the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU (CHoR).

The students will start at 10 a.m. and stand on their feet for 12 hours in support of the CHoR at the University Student Commons on 907 Floyd Ave.

VCU’s event is one of more than 400 dance marathon events nationwide that support local Children’s Miracle Networks Hospitals. More than 350 students have spent months fundraising for CHoR. This year’s RamTHON theme is “Everyday Heroes” in honor of the children at the hospital.

The family-friendly event is open to the public and will feature entertainment and games, as well as visits from families and doctors at the hospital. Various student groups will perform throughout the day and themed music will change each hour to reflect a variety of genres.

There will be a recommended donation for visitors and the final fundraising total will be announced at the event’s finale at 10 p.m. For more information about RamTHON, please contact Lindsey Dombert at 804-828- 4439 or by visiting this link.
