RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Here’s 8News’ weekly look at what’s new at the box office.
“Pride and Prejudice and Zombies” is pretty much what it sounds like. The characters of Jane Austen’s classic find themselves fighting off the walking Dead. Starring Lilly James and Sam Riley, this mashup of genres is rated PG-13.
“Hail, Caesar” takes movie-goers back to the golden age of Hollywood. It stars Josh Brolin as a Movie Studio fixer. He has to keep actors out of trouble and out of the tabloids. He’s got his job cut out for him with a big A-list star…played by George Clooney. His character has just been kidnapped. From Joel and Ethan Coen or “The Big Lebowski” and “No Country for Old Men” fame, the film co-stars Scarlett Johanson and Channing Tatum. It’s rated pg-13.
Opposites attract in the new drama “The Choice.” Based on the book by Nicolas Sparks, it finds a devout ladies man, played by Ben Walker falling for a medical student. Played by Teresa Palmer, she’s in the hunt for a husband and surprised to find out she’s interested in this guy. The two get together. It’s what happens later in the relationship that defines their lives. The romantic drama is rated PG-13.
