Victim of Richmond-Henrico Turnpike shooting dies from injuries

RICHMOND, VA (WRIC) – The victim of a late-January shooting in the Brookland Park neighborhood has died, and the incident is now being investigated as a homicide.

At approximately 10:12 p.m. on January 27, officers responded to a call for random gunfire in the 3100 block of Richmond-Henrico Turnpike. When they arrived, officers quickly located Ericelle C. Coleman, 27, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital late Monday night.

Major Crimes detectives are working all available leads in this case and continue to gather additional information as part of the ongoing investigation.
