VCU Baseball returns to the Diamond with higher expectations

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The snow has melted at the Diamond and the VCU Rams baseball team can begin preparation for their opening game, February 19th against Kennesaw State.

The Rams are coming off a season where they won the Atlantic 10 tournament championship and reached the school’s first NCAA Super Regional in program history.

Head coach Shawn Stiffler returns most of his explosive lineup that produced high scoring wins en route to 13 straight victories to end the 2014-2015 season. All three weekend starting pitchers have graduated, Stiffler says that will be a “feeling out” process through the beginning of the season to iron out the rotation.

VCU will hold baseball media day on Tuesday, February 9th at the Siegel Center.
