18-year-old injured in fatal Caroline Co. domestic dispute undergoes successful surgery

CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Caroline County Sheriff Tony Lippa released an update on the 18-year-old female and 7-year-old boy who were injured during a domestic dispute that left two dead in Caroline County over the weekend.

At approximately 9:45 p.m. on Friday, January 29, authorities responded to a reported shooting in the 14000 block of Jefferson Davis Highway in northern Caroline County. Two adults, 42-year-old Andre Gray and 42-year-old Tina Gray, were found dead in the home. Two surviving family members, one 18-year-old female and a 7-year-old male, were transported to Mary Washington Hospital where they were listed in stable but critical condition.

On Tuesday, Sheriff Lippa said the 18-year-old female underwent successful surgery on Monday to remove a bullet. She remains in stable, but critical care. The 7-year-old is listed in stable condition.

“No further information will be released at this time as the investigation continues,” Sheriff Lippa said in a release. “Thank you for your patience, along with thoughts and prayers to the families involved.
