GRTC suspends service Sunday until road conditions improve

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) –After evaluating road conditions, GRTC is suspending all service Sunday for the safety of staff and customers.

The entire fleet will be inspected and refueled Sunday in the event GRTC is able to resume service Monday. Road conditions will be evaluated around the transit system early Monday morning to determine if, when and in what capacity service may resume. GRTC currently anticipates road conditions will improve enough by Monday to resume service on snow routes.

During snow routes, all bus routes are active, but some bus routes will avoid dangerous streets around the system that are challenging to navigate in inclement Winter Weather. Buses display an alert message on the electronic exterior signs, saying, “SNOW ROUTES IN EFFECT,” to notify customers that buses are on snow routes.
