RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — GRTC resumed service on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. Paratransit service also resumed this morning for customers with dialysis and medical appointments.
Fixed route buses will operate today on snow routes, but with limited service. This means there will be a longer-than-usual time in between buses servicing stops.
All GRTC service will continue during daylight hours, ending at 5 p.m. Saturday. For routes that are still out on their last trip at 5 p.m., including return trips for paratransit customers, GRTC will complete those final services after 5 p.m. GRTC will assess road conditions early Sunday morning to determine when to resume service, and in what capacity, for Sunday.
During Snow Routes, some bus routes will avoid dangerous streets around the system that are challenging to navigate in inclement Winter Weather. Buses display an alert message on the electronic exterior signs, saying, “SNOW ROUTES IN EFFECT,” to notify customers that buses are on snow routes.
