Suspect in Richmond convenience store robbery sought by police

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Detectives need your help to identify a suspect who robbed a Valero convenience store on Saturday.

Police say that around 4:45 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, a male walked into the Valero convenience store located at 6220 Midlothian Turnpike, brandished an object that was possibly a gun, stole cash from the business and fled on foot.

There were no injuries.

The suspect is described as a black male, between 25 and 40 years of age, 5 foot 11 to 6 feet tall with a medium build. He wore a blue bomber jacket, orange knit cap and black trousers. He had a cloth over his face and possibly has a mark or scar on his right cheek.

Detectives ask anyone with any information about this man’s identity to call Third Precinct Detective William Cutshall at (804) 646-1068 or Crime Stoppers at 780-1000. Citizens can also text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word “ITip” followed by your tip. Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
