RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A local man accused in two homicides will be in court Thursday.

30-year-old Anwar “Wawa” Phillips, of the 2200 block of Keswick Avenue, was charged in December with two counts of conspiracy to commit murder related to the November 16 homicide of Frank McCray and the November 10 homicide of Rolando Salas. Detectives believe Phillips was known to at least one victim in each incident and that the cases are related. Neither shooting is believed to be random.

Phillips, who was wanted for the November 16 shootings at Blue Ridge Apartments, was taken into custody in November in Henrico County. Phillips allegedly shot three people that night, including a 7-year-old girl.

Phillips is expected in court at 9 a.m. today for a preliminary hearing.
