Victim aids in capture of Chesterfield County robbery suspect

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — One man is in custody after a robbery at the Broadwater Townhomes in Chesterfield County. The victim was able to give Chesterfield County Police a description of the car, which was spotted a few minutes later.

Police responded to a robbery at the Broadwater Townhomes at 1:30 a.m. Monday. The adult victim stated he was robbed of clothing and personal items.

A short time later an officer observed the suspect’s car pull into a residential driveway near Chester Rd and Curtis St. According to police, the driver of the car, 20-year-old Devon Shaquil Williams of the 9000 block of Omaha Street in Chesterfield County, sped off, eventually bailing out of the car. Police were able to track him down after a police K-9 tracked to his location.

Charges are pending.
