Police: Suspect charged in Henrico robbery handed over his debit card before stealing items

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Henrico police have made an arrest after a commercial robbery Monday.

Police responded to the 8100 block of Brook Road for a commercial robbery at 2:45 p.m. Monday. The victim reported that a black male entered the business as if he intended to buy something. The victim showed the suspect items for sale and the suspect provided a debit card to purchase the items. The suspect then tried to leave the business with the items while the victim processes the transaction.

The business’ electronic door locks were engaged and the suspect couldn’t get out. The suspect then approached the victim with his hand in his pocket, motioning as if he had a weapon. The suspect demanded the victim open the door and also removed money from the register.

The suspect, who police identified as 30-year-old George Juan Walker, Jr., fled the business on foot.

Walker was charged with robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
