Police: Armed suspect struck customer before taking money, fleeing in Henrico robbery

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Henrico Police are investigating after an armed robbery Wednesday evening.

Officers responded to the 6700 block of Staples Mill Road for a commercial robbery at 7:14 p.m. The victims reported that a black male, armed with a silver handgun, entered the business and approached the register. The suspect struck a customer in line and pointed the firearm at the victim while demanding money. The suspect then went behind the counter, removed money and fled the business on foot.

The customer was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The suspect is described by police as a black male, with a light complexion, about 5 foot 7 to 5 foot 9. The suspect was wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt with neon strings on the hood, dark jeans, white shoes, black clothing covering the lower portion of his face and armed with a handgun.

Henrico County Police Division is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the subject responsible for this crime.
