RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Thursday afternoon, Richmond Spiders athletics confirmed with 8News that junior point guard ShawnDre Jones is listed as questionable for Saturday’s A-10 opener against St. Joseph’s at the Robins Center.

Jones has a right ankle sprain, an injury that came during Richmond’s loss to Texas Tech on Tuesday with under three minutes to play. Jones did not return to the game after the injury occurred.

In 12 starts this season, ShawnDre Jones is averaging 14.3 points per game, while leading the Spiders (8-4) with 3.6 assists per game and 32.8 minutes per game. Jones also leads the team in made threes (29).

Jones’ status, according to the school, is “day-to-day” and will be considered for Saturday’s starting lineup if he is cleared and feels good enough on that right ankle.

If he is not able to go on Saturday, look for freshman guard Khwan Fore to be more involved in the rotation or moved into the starting lineup. Fore scored a career high 13 points against the Red Raiders.
