4 suspects sought in shooting of juvenile male on Mechanicsville Turnpike

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond police are asking for the public’s help in identifying four suspects involved in a shooting that occurred in the city’s east end earlier this month.

Shortly after 8 p.m. on December 19, police were called to the 1600 block of Spotsylvania Street for a report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they found a juvenile male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

An investigation determined the shooting occurred in the 1500 block of Mechanicsville Turnpike. Prior to the incident, four individuals were captured on surveillance video along with a vehicle of interest which is shown parking at the beginning of the above video.

Anyone with information about any of these individuals is asked to call Major Crimes Detective Jamie Baynes at 646-3617 or Crime Stoppers at 780-1000. Citizens may also text Crime Stoppers at 274637, using the key word “ITip” followed by your tip. Both Crime Stoppers methods are anonymous.
