Pit bull attacks dog, 2 people in Prince George County

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A police officer killed a dog after it attacked two people and another dog in Prince George County on Sunday.

Police say the incident happened a little before 12 p.m. in the 2800 block of Manitoba Court when a family took their pet dog for a walk. According to police, that’s when a neighbor’s pit bull got loose and attacked the dog before also biting the two adults. A neighbor came outside and helped the family get away from the dog.

Police say the pit bull tried to bite an officer on the scene, which caused him to euthanize it.

Police say the dog who was attacked was transported to a local emergency vet.

The owner of the pit bull was charged with having a dog running at large.
