Chesterfield woman charged with reckless driving after Monday police pursuit

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A Chesterfield County woman has been charged after allegedly leading police on a pursuit Monday.

According to authorities, a Hanover County plain-clothed officer observed a vehicle exceeding speeds of 100 mph on I-295 westbound. A Virginia State Police trooper attempted to make a stop on I-64 near the 211 mile marker, but the driver ignored signals to pull over and fled.

New Kent County Sheriff’s deputies assisted in the pursuit.

The vehicle continued eastbound on I-64 until it crashed into the median. The driver, identified as 61-year-old Donna Haynes, was not injured. Haynes was charged with reckless driving.
