Flood advisory issued for parts of Central Va.

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a flood advisory for the following counties in Central Virginia:

Southeastern Hanover County
Northeastern Dinwiddie County
Southeastern Chesterfield County
Southeastern Henrico County
Western New Kent County
Northwestern Charles City County
Prince George County

The advisory remains in effect until 4:45 p.m.

Some areas that may also experience flooding include: Richmond, Petersburg, Hopewell, Colonial Heights, Highland Springs, Roxbury, Disputanta, Virginia State University, Chester, Mechanicsville, Talleysville, Fort Lee, Carson, Garysville, Providence Forge, Sutherland, Matoaca and Bottom’s Bridge.
