RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Today marks the 74th anniversary of the attack at Pearl Harbor, which launched the United States into World War II.
It was this day in 1941 when Japan attacked the U.S. naval base in Hawaii, killing over 2400 people.
A ceremony to commemorate the anniversary of the attack will be held at the Virginia War Memorial at 11 a.m. A wreath will be laid to honor and remember the victims and the survivors of the surprised bombing.
Two survivors are expected to attend.
