Arrest made in Finchley Place homicide

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A Hanover County man has been arrested and charged in connection with a homicide that occurred last month on the city’s South Side.

According to Richmond Police, Jeffrey L. Michaux Jr., 24, of the 11000 block of Cobbs Road in Hanover County, was arrested Thursday and charged with conspiracy to commit murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

At 12:09 a.m. on November 16, officers responded to a call of shots fired in the St. John’s Wood apartment complex. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of Ashley Davis, 33, of the 1000 block of Finchley Place, lying in the woods across the parking lot from an apartment building in the 1000 block of Finchley Place.

While off duty, a Richmond Police officer spotted Jeffrey Michaux, who was wanted in connection with the homicide, at a business in Hanover County. The Hanover County Sheriff’s Office coordinated with Richmond Police to take the suspect into custody and serve both warrants for the above charges.
