RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — 24 more hours of wet weather is on tap for the area before this pesky system packs up and leaves, allowing for sunshine to return and last through the weekend.
Tonight we will have periods of rain with overnight lows in the upper 40s and lower 50s. Some temperatures will start to rise late tonight in the southern half of the state.
Wednesday will be cloudy with showers likely. A few of them will have some locally heavy downpours and over the southeast third of the state, there could even be a rumble of thunder. Highs will be in the upper 50s to lower 60s north and northwest of Richmond, however to our south and southeast they could warm to 65-70.
Slow clearing is on tap for the area Wednesday night as the system moves away. Lows will be in the mid 40s. Thursday will be sunny and breezy with highs in the mid 50s. Friday through the weekend will also be sunny. Highs will be in the 50s with lows in the lower 30s.
Early next week some clouds will start to return to the area with the possibility of rain developing by next Tuesday.
