RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — All lanes of Interstate 95 south have reopened after a crash.
Virginia State Police were on scene of the crash around 7:15 a.m. Police say the tractor trailer overturned on I-95 southbound one mile south of Maury Street in Richmond.
According to authorities, the 2001 Mack tractor trailer ran off the road to the left, striking the barrier wall and then overturning, blocking all three southbound travel lanes.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, 34-year-old Orlando S. Baxter, of Richmond, was transported to VCU Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Baxter was charged with reckless driving. Fatigue appears to have been a factor in the crash.
The truck was loaded with boxed freight. There was no hazmat spill.
