RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Are you looking for a movie to see this weekend? Here’s a look at what’s new at the box office.
It’s all out war in “Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part Two“. This fourth and final film of the Hunger Games series finds the districts in disarray battling each other instead of the capitol. Katniss, played again by Jennifer Lawrence, leads the surviving tributes on an assault of the capitol to encourage the districts to help in overthrowing the government. The film co-stars Liam Hemsworth, Julianne Moore, Josh Hutcherson, and Woody Harrelson. It’s rated PG-13.
“Spotlight” is based on the true story of the Boston Globe journalists who broke the story about sexual abuse within the catholic church. Their year long investigation would uncover cover-ups throughout the church and the city of Boston’s establishment. The drama stars Rachel Mcadams, Mark Ruffalo, and Michael Keaton. It’s rated R.
“Secret in their Eyes” also focuses on a team…this time of detectives Played by Nicole Kidman, Chiwetel Edgiofor and Julia Roberts. When Roberts’ character’s daughter is murdered, they go on the hunt for her killer. The case grows cold, but a new lead 13 years later may finally let them solve the crime. But, they may not be happy with the justice they’re looking for. The film is rated PG-13.
“The Night Before” has Seth Rogen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Anthony Mackie getting together for their annual night of debauchery on Christmas eve. They’re all growing up and this is likely their last one. To make it memorable, they go on the hunt for a legendary mysterious party somewhere in New York city. It’s rated R.
