RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Hanover quarterback Clayton Chetham played the perfect maestro for Hanover’s ground attack in Friday’s 47-28 win over Louisa. Cheatham ran for four touchdowns and threw for two more as the Hawks advanced in the 4A state playoffs. Cheatham did so in less than three full quarters. Referees flagged the signal caller for two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties and ejected him from the game. Due to the ejection, Cheatham is also suspended for Hanover’s next game Friday against Dinwiddie. Hanover and Cheatham have appealed the suspension.
Neither Cheatham nor Hanover Head Coach Derek Stoudt would comment on the suspension or the appeal except to acknowledge that Cheatham’s status for Friday’s game is up in the air.
