Multi jurisdictional police efforts yield arrest in Hanover robbery

HANOVER, VA (WRIC) – On Friday, November 13, 2015, at approximately 9:53 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office responded to Advance America located in the 6400 block of Mechanicsville Turnpike for a report of a robbery.  The suspect entered the business, produced a firearm and took an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect also stole one of the employee’s keys and vehicle, which was parked adjacent to the business.  The suspect fled the area in a stolen 2010 burgundy Hyundai Sonata 4-door sedan displaying Virginia license XBF-6689.  The passenger side-view mirror is damaged.

Investigators have charged Kenny Jimenez, 28, of Tampa Florida with two counts of Robbery, two counts of Use of a Firearm, and four counts of grand larceny in connections with the robbery at Advanced America on November 13.

Jimenez was arrested Saturday in Tampa, Florida with the assistance of the following agencies: Tampa Police, Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Tampa Airport Police, Richmond Airport Police, and Henrico Police.
