Henrico Fire rescues two residents from North Side apartment fire

HENRICO, VA – Henrico County Division of Fire responded to the 5800 Block of Hermitage Rd in Henrico County’s North Side for an apartment fire at around 10:30pm Saturday night. First units arrived within five minutes of the initial 911 call and found heavy smoke and fire from one apartment with reports of residents trapped.

Crews immediately began rescue efforts and successfully rescued two trapped occupants. All the residents of the apartment were safely rescued without injury. Firefighters worked fast to control the fire before the fire could extend to adjacent apartments and were able to fully control the incident in thirty minutes. Crews are working with the Henrico Fire Marshal’s Office to determine a cause.

No firefighters were injured during the incident.
