SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The big question the morning after Halloween: Too soon or nah?
The social networks were stirring Sunday after photos showing a Halloween costume portraying comedian Bill Cosby as an inflatable doll and spiking a drink with drugs.
Some social media users thought the idea was hilarious…
“This costume wins the Internet tonight…. By far.” -Eric ‘Modemman’ Van Hagen on Stanley Roberts’ Facebook
Meanwhile, others found it to be offensive…
“Rape is NEVER funny and to make fun of it in any form is WRONG! Shame on those that do. It could happen to you or your loved one. One never knows!” -Geanie Simons on Stanley Roberts’ Facebook.
Cosby has been accused by nearly 60 women of rape, drug facilitated sexual assault, sexual battery, and/or sexual misconduct, as of October 23, 2015. Reportedly, Cosby has been involved in these incidents since the 1960s. As a result of the allegations, the CAA no longer has Cosby as a client and several universities rescinded his honorary degrees.
Cosby jokes have been Internet popular on social media for the past year. Some people thought that the line was crossed in this situation, while others enjoyed it and looked at it as harmless fun.
