INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Some couples celebrate their anniversary over dinner. Others might take a trip. But one couple who’s celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary did something far more special.
YouTube star and pianist Jason Lyle Black posted a video to his channel this week of his 80-year-old grandparents paying homage to Disney-Pixar’s “UP.” The first few minutes of the animated feature film, which was released in 2009, is a look back on the married life of characters Carl and Ellie.
In the video, Black’s grandparents sit down at a piano and play the theme from “UP” in an arrangement he wrote.
Black wrote that his grandparents have played piano duets since they were first married. He added the instrument in the video is an antique Civil War-era Steinway that his grandpa restored.
As they play, scenes from the couple’s own life are shown in framed photos around the house. Elements to “UP,” including the tennis-ball cane, the “Adventure Book,” and the “Squirrel!” reaction from the family dog also make appearances. Black even makes a cameo at the end of the video, wearing a “Wilderness Explorer” uniform.
