Virginia Beach cat returns to family after missing for four years

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – A cat named Cheddar returned to his family after he went missing over four years ago.

Cheddar was actually found by someone who assumed he was homeless and kept him. But the family could no longer take care of the cat so they brought him to the Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center.

At the shelter they found and scanned his pet microchip, and found out that he belonged to a family. So after VBACAC contacted the owner, they came running to pick him up for a happy reunion.

The VBACAC asks you to report any pet you find lost/stray to the city shelter. Also It is important to microchip your pets.
