Non-GMO Foods

 

October is Non-GMO Month.GMO stands for genetically modified organisms and is basically food that has been changed from its natural state.  Brittany Mullins of Eating Bird Food talked about ways to avoid foods with GMO. And offered some healthy food options including this recipe:

Baked Egg in an Avocado
Ingredients:
1 avocado
1 egg
Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
2. Slice avocado in half.
3. Scoop out pit to create hole for the egg.
4. Place avocado in a small baking cup. Line with tinfoil for minimal clean-up.
5. Bake for 15-20 minutes and enjoy!
