VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) – State Police say one person was killed in an early morning single vehicle accident in Virginia Beach.

Officials say a Virginia State Trooper came across a vehicle engulfed in flames on Interstate 264 after 2 a.m. on Saturday. They say the driver ran off the road to the right of the old toll plaza and struck a barrier, causing the car to overturn and catch on fire. The driver was partially ejected and trapped underneath the vehicle.

State Police say they are still working to identify the driver and notify family members.
