Newborn arrives 16 weeks early to Dinwiddie couple behind viral baby announcement

DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — 8News has learned that Dana Griffin-Graves delivered her baby today at 24 weeks and one day.

We are still awaiting word on the condition of both Dana and her newborn.

Earlier on Tuesday, Dana was in critical care and, according to a Facebook page set up by the family, “her body has endured all it can take.”

“We are believing God. It’s always been in His Hands, so we hold on to Him. Please keep us in your prayers today and always.”

Graves told her husband she was pregnant in a viral video that 8News shared last month. She had planted the baby’s ultrasound photos right next to a package of buns in the oven. When her husband figured it out, he broke down into tears of joy.

“His reaction was just priceless,” Dana told 8News in September. “I wasn’t expecting that at all. I knew that he would probably be emotional but I definitely was not expecting the reaction I received.”
