New Kent woman killed in crash

KING WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A New Kent County woman was killed Saturday afternoon in a two vehicle crash in King William County.  The crash occurred at 3:28 p.m. on Route 360 (Richmond Tappahannock Turnpike), ½ mile east of Route 30 (King William Road).

Virginia State Police Trooper J. L. Harris is investigating the crash.

A 2010 Toyota Camry was traveling west on Route 360 when it struck a 2006 Nissan Altima in the rear, the Nissan then ran off the road to the right and struck a tree.

The driver of the 2010 Toyota, Michelle K. Lilly, 24, of North Chesterfield, Virginia, was transported to the Memorial Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries; she was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver of the  2006 Nissan, Wanda M. Brown, 53, of  New Kent County, Virginia was transported to the Memorial Regional Hospital where she died from injuries sustained in the crash; she was not wearing a seatbelt.

The crash remains under investigation.
