JMU to host ESPN’s College Gameday


Richmond, Va. (WRIC) — They’re coming… To your cit-tay. If your city is Harrisonburg, that is.

ESPN’s popular college football pre-game show College Gameday is indeed heading to Harrisonburg to the campus of James Madison University this coming Saturday. It will be Gameday’s first visit to the school.


The #5 Dukes play host to the University of Richmond Spiders Saturday at 3:30 p.m. JMU comes into the game undefeated, including a signature win over FBS program Southern Methodist. They most recently shut out Elon, 51 – 0.

Richmond brings a 5 – 1 record to Harrisonburg, falling only to the Big Ten’s Maryland Terrapins in the season opener. Richmond easily handled Rhode Island Saturday, 37 – 12.

College Gameday will go on air at 9 a.m. Saturday, bringing three hours of analysis, features and prognostication ahead of Saturday’s slate of college football games. The broadcast typically features large crowds of students holding creative signs, as well as show-ending predictions for the feature contest.
