RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A few high clouds will be over the region today giving us mostly sunny skies and it will be very pleasant with highs in the upper 70s to near 80.
It will be mainly clear this evening and tonight and we have a good shot to view the rocket launch out of Wallops Island between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., look to the east lower in the horizon. Overnight lows will drop back to the upper 50s to near 60s under mainly clear skies.
Thursday will be another great day with sunshine and highs in the upper 70s.
Partly sunny skies will be with us on Friday as a cold front approaches the region. The winds ahead of the cold front will be from the southwest and that will push slightly warmer temperatures into the region as we climb into the lower 80s.
That cold front will push in late Friday night and move through on Saturday. This is not the strongest front but clouds and showers are possible during the day and it will be cooler with highs in the lower to middle 60s. By Saturday night that cold front will clear Virginia allowing for clear skies which will return us to Sunshine on Sunday.
Highs on Sunday will top out near 70.
Sunny skies will remain with us next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with highs from the lower to middle 70s.
