RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A motorcyclist was hospitalized with serious injuries following an accident on Chippenham Parkway Wednesday evening.

The crash occurred at 5:10 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Chippenham Parkway, just before the Forest Hill Avenue exit.

According to Virginia State Police, a 1991 Honda motorcycle was slowing down for traffic when it was rear-ended by a 2008 Nissan Altima, which came to rest on top of the motorcyclist.
